Report: WWE Legend Appearance Nixed From Raw

A WWE legend was reportedly set to appear on last night's Raw, only for their involvement to be scrapped.

A WWE Hall of Famer was slated to appear on last night's Raw - and was even present at the show itself - only to have their involvement scrapped, according to a report from Fightful Select

The report explains that Trish Stratus was set to return during last night's 'Ding Dong Hello!' segment, which ultimately saw Bayley and her Damage CTRL stablemates interrupted by Becky Lynch and Lita, who challenged the Women's Tag Team Champions to a match on next week's show.

The apparent reason for Trish's lack of involvement was a "creative change", although Fightful have said that they will continue to ask around for a more thorough explanation.

Stratus' last match came at SummerSlam 2019, where a defeat to Charlotte Flair was supposedly the last bout of Trish's career. However, as we've seen so often in wrestling, a high-profile retirement match doesn't necessarily mean that the wrestler in question stays retired for good. Names such as Shawn Michaels have been coaxed back for one more match, while others big names such as Edge, Saraya and Bryan Danielson have made incredible comebacks from apparent career-ending injuries. Even as recently as last year's WrestleMania, Steve Austin surprisingly returned to action - defeating Kevin Owens in the main event of night one.
