Report: WWE NXT Feel Vince McMahon Sent Them A Message With Karrion Kross's Raw Debut Loss

Does Vince care about NXT?

A WWE NXT Superstar believes there was a meaning behind Karrion Kross's debut loss on last night's edition of Monday Night Raw.

After weeks of dark matches and an appearance on Main Event, the NXT Champion made his Raw debut in a match against Jeff Hardy. Many expected Kross to be presented strongly in his first match on the red brand, but The Harbinger Of Fury was instead defeated in under two minutes after Hardy used the ropes to leverage a pin.

This contrasted greatly with Kross's NXT booking, where he had been undefeated in singles action since joining WWE in February 2020.

Sean Ross Sapp noted on Fightful's Raw Review that an NXT wrestler believes Vince McMahon booked Kross to lose his Raw debut to send a message.

"Vince McMahon does not give a damn about NXT. I had an NXT wrestler say, 'That felt like a message being sent,'" Sapp said.

What message McMahon was trying to get across has not been revealed, but some have called into question the importance of NXT since the loss, especially with the brand's champion having lost to Jeff Hardy, a Superstar who had done little of note in months.
