Report: WWE NXT Great American Bash Planned For July 4

NXT's summer schedule set has been reportedly revealed

NXT’s summer schedule looks to have been revealed, with some special TV events and a streaming exclusive event coming up in the near future. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that WWE’s developmental brand is looking to host the Great American Bash special on their July 4 episode of weekly television, with another show set for Saturday August 12.

“After 5/28, the next NXT major shows are expected to be a Great American Bash special on 7/4, which would be a Tuesday TV show, and an 8/12 Saturday night Peacock special. Neither is official as the NXT big show calendar according to those in WWE lists no big events after 5/28 as being official but both have been talked about. July 4th is generally the hardest day of the year with the possible exception of Christmas Eve to draw on television. So the choices are to do a normal show and throw in the towel or to do something special. Wrestling does have a history of special holiday shows doing well, but there is a difference between a live event and a television show on nights people want to go out.”

The next big NXT show is Battleground, which will take place on May 28 next Sunday, getting headlined by the NXT Championship bout between Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes.
