On last week's episode of Monday Night Raw, NXT Superstars like Jessamyn Duke and Shotzi Blackheart were used in the crowd to create an atmosphere during the show. This will be WWE's policy going forward until fans are allowed to attend events, but this resulted in the same wrestlers working three 12-hour days in a row. Superstars were also only allowed to sit down for a limited time in between matches.

Fightful Select reported that the Performance Center recruits were "upset" after the tapings ended. After a long three days, the Superstars were asked to stick around on Wednesday as the company planned to pre-tape Adam Cole vs. The Velveteen Dream at NXT TakeOver: In Your House.

The title match was given a unique setting as it was filmed behind Full Sail University and wrestlers were asked to surround the ring in their cars. However, issues quickly arose as filming was scheduled to begin at 7 pm but Superstars were left waiting around until midnight after rainfall delayed the bout.
