Report: WWE NXT Talent Relieved About Not Being Called Up To The Main Roster

Relief amongst WWE NXT over not being drafted

Following WrestleMania 40, WWE put their roster plans in motion for the next year as the company held the 2024 Draft from the April 26 episode of SmackDown until the April 29 edition of Monday Night Raw.

The 2024 WWE Draft saw a number of talents from NXT called up to the main roster, including former NXT champions Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes, and the likes of Kiana James, Dijak, Blair Davenport, and Lyra Valkyria. Talents didn't know ahead of time whether they would be moving to the main roster or remaining in NXT, with wrestlers sitting inside the WWE Performance Center during both nights of the WWE Draft.

According to Fightful Select, there was a "sense of relief" amongst the NXT talent they spoke to who remained on the Tuesday night show. This was due to them not being "thrown into the deep end on the main roster."

Moving forward, NXT Champion Trick Williams will be the face of the brand. There could be more brand switches before the post-Backlash edition of Monday Night Raw, though, with reports indicating WWE may carry out a couple of trades
