Report: WWE Open To Bringing Back Mercedes Moné

Could Mercedes Moné head back to WWE?

Mercedes Moné heading back to WWE once her run in New Japan Pro-Wrestling is over isn't out of the realm of possibility.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are elements in her deal that Moné would have to stop asking for if she were to re-sign with WWE but "the door is open" for the former Sasha Banks to go back to Vince McMahon's company.

How long Moné plans to wrestle for NJPW is currently unknown but she was only signed with the promotion through STARDOM's show at Yokohama Arena on April 23 as of last word. Moné has hinted at working the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II event on June 25, however.

Moné has spent much of her in-ring career in WWE. She and tag team partner Naomi walked out of WWE over a creative issue with Vince McMahon and she left the company at some point in 2022, likely in the summer. Part of her WWE release meant Moné was unable to take any pro-wrestling-related bookings until 2023.

Moné is currently the IWGP Women's Champion, having won the title from KAIRI at Battle in the Valley on February 18.
