NXT is set to be a "significant part" of the upcoming WWE draft and many talents from the developmental brand will be called up to the main roster over the next week, according to a new report.

WWE's latest draft is set to begin later this week on the October 1 edition of Friday Night SmackDown and then come to a close on the October 4 episode of Raw.

While Raw and SmackDown will be the brands drafting talent, Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE are currently planning to move "many" NXT Superstars to the main roster.

"I have no idea what's coming and probably nobody else does either. From what I was told today, USA and FOX do know a few things like the key guys. The key guys are decided, nothing else is decided. Everything can change. Right now, NXT - there's supposed to be people drafted from NXT and to freshen up both brands. This person who said that said this could also change completely tomorrow but they're under the impression that there will be a lot of people from NXT. I don't want to say a lot but many people from NXT. The NXT guys are supposed to be a significant part of it," Meltzer said.

NXT recently underwent a revamp and the show has been billed as NXT 2.0 for the last couple of weeks. Several new talents have made their TV debuts while longtime NXT performers like Cameron Grimes, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa have continued to appear on the Tuesday night show.
