Report: WWE Pushed Big E To Change His Entrance Music

New Day no more...

On last week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Big E ditched The New Day entrance music and headed to the ring with a new theme sang by Wale. He also revived the weightlifting chalk gimmick that he previously used when he was Big E Langston.

Following the new entrance, the former Intercontinental Champion tweeted: "I was a @Wale fan well before anyone cared to know my name. Eternally grateful to get to come out to a living legend's music."

According to Fightful Select, WWE pushed Big E to change his entrance music. The SmackDown star did have input over his new theme, though, and he specifically asked for Wale to do the song. WWE has been receptive to input from Superstars when changing their theme recently and Keith Lee was able to record lines for his new music.

Big E's new entrance theme was also supposed to debut months ago during his feud with Sheamus. It's unveiling was delayed, however, because tweaks had to be made to the song.
