Report: WWE Pushed For Bray Wyatt To Revive 'The Fiend' Persona

Could The Fiend be coming back to WWE TV?

WWE wanted Bray Wyatt to revive his Fiend persona, according to a new report.

Wyatt made his return to WWE at Extreme Rules in October 2022 and the two-time Universal Champion eventually made his TV in-ring debut, defeating LA Knight at Royal Rumble in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match. Wyatt debuted a new persona following his win before Uncle Howdy hit a Flying Elbow from the top of a platform.

Fight Fans has reported that WWE were not "overly fond" of how the Pitch Black Match played out and Wyatt's new masked persona as they don't feel it is as good as The Fiend and won't sell merchandise on the same level as Wyatt's old gimmick. WWE pushed for Wyatt to bring back The Fiend following the January pay-per-view and those talks intensified over the past month or two but there is currently no movement on a Fiend revival.

Wyatt has been off WWE TV since February 2023 with an illness. When he will make his return is unknown.

Wyatt previously portrayed The Fiend from 2019 until WrestleMania 37 in April 2021. He had two reigns as Universal Champion under the gimmick and it was popular with fans at the time.
