WWE found Tony Khan's comments on the NFL Network, during which he called the company the "Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling", to be ridiculous, according to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio. This opinion was also shared by people within All Elite Wrestling.

"I talked to people in both companies and I will say this about what he [Tony Khan] said because I know like a lot of fans heard the Harvey Weinstein line and they were somewhere celebratory like it was the greatest thing ever and some of them were like, 'Oh my god, why did he do it?' I can tell you from talking to people in AEW, and obviously the WWE people thought it was ridiculous, but I heard people in AEW saying the same thing... When people in WWE and people in AEW who have a lot of friends in WWE see Tony accusing the entire company, 'The entire company is evil, we are battling an evil company', a lot of people take exception to that. The truth is in the middle. It is not all Vince and it is certainly not the entire company. So I think that was one of the things that people got very upset about with the comment," Bryan Alvarez said.

Tony Khan made the comments during an appearance on the NFL Network while he was discussing the angle from the April 24 edition of AEW Dynamite that saw him be laid out by The Elite. Khan wore a neck brace for the interview, and throughout the NFL Draft, and he called AEW the Pepsi of pro wrestling that is up against an "evil juggernaut" in WWE, who are the "Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling."

The comments divided opinion on social media but one company that was positive about Khan's comments were, in fact, the NFL Network.

WWE and All Elite Wrestling have taken shots at each other since AEW was founded in 2019. Khan recently stated their mutual hatred is a "natural resource that powers the industry."
