Report: WWE Reviving NXT TakeOvers

NXT TakeOver events are reportedly returning

They're back!

According to Fightful Select, WWE are reviving their NXT TakeOver events and fans won't have to wait very long for the shows to return. The first TakeOver in over a year will be Halloween Havoc on October 22.

The return of TakeOvers comes amidst other changes to NXT since Triple H became Chief Content Officer and the brand revealed a new logo on Tuesday that combined the black-and-gold and 2.0 eras.

WWE held 36 TakeOver shows during the black-and-gold brand era of NXT from 2014 until August 2021. The events were often critically acclaimed, usually outshining the main roster pay-per-views that would take place the following day.

When NXT underwent its 2.0 revamp in September 2021, though, TakeOvers were scrapped and WWE instead held major NXT events without the 'TakeOver' tag. Many of those events like Heatwave and New Year's Evil took place on TV but the company has held NXT WarGames, Stand & Deliver, and In Your House over the last year as premium live events on Peacock and WWE Network.
