Report: WWE Rushed Omos-AJ Styles Split, Have "Significant Plans" For Both In Early 2022

Big plans on the horizon

After over a year together on-screen, the partnership between Omos and AJ Styles fell apart on the December 20 edition of Monday Night Raw.

Disagreements between the former Raw Tag Team Champions had become more common in recent weeks and Omos turned on The Phenomenal One during their tag team match against Rey and Dominik Mysterio, refusing to accept Styles' tag. This ultimately led to a win for The Mysterios and Styles and Omos would brawl after the match, with the giant leaving the two-time WWE Champion on the mat following a Press Slam.

While many assumed the AJ Styles and Omos partnership would eventually lead to a split, WWE booked their tag team to end earlier than planned, according to WrestleVotes. Vince McMahon's company also reportedly have "significant plans" for both men in early 2022.

"If it felt like they sped up the Omos & AJ Styles spilt, it's because they did. Source says both superstars have significant plans in early 2022, and wanted any type of blow off program done prior to the major Rumble & Mania events," WrestleVotes tweeted.

What WWE have planned for Styles and Omos ultimately remains to be seen but the company is looking to begin 2022 in a big way with the Day 1 pay-per-view on January 1 before the Royal Rumble later in the month.
