Report: WWE Sale Will Collapse Unless Merger With UFC Is Finalised By End Of 2023

WWE's Sale To Endeavor Could Reportedly Collapse If Deal Isn't Completed By The End Of 2023

The news of WWE’s sale has dominated headlines over the last week, with the announcement of a shock merger with UFC and a sale to Endeavor shaking the professional wrestling and business worlds.

These sorts of deals can take quite a while to get finalised, as there is understandably a whole load of fine print to go through, especially for a deal involving multiple multi-billion dollar companies. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer made note of a situation in which the deal would fall through;

“The merger of the two similar dominant brands in their respective industries is expected to be finalized and the company is to go public in four to six months. If, for whatever reason, the merger isn’t finalized by the start of 2024, which is unlikely to happen, the deal would fall apart.”

With all sides fully on board for this deal, a collapse is unlikely to happen, though it is possible if any issues emerge to extend the timeframe on completion. It is also noted that the parties have up until January 2, 2024 to pull out of the agreement, if perhaps there is an instance in which WWE receives a better offer for a sale. If either side pulls out, then there are huge fees to be paid.
