Report: WWE Saturday Night's Main Event Planned For Week Before Royal Rumble
Plans for second episode of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event reboot revealed
Nov 15, 2024
WWE are reportedly set to hold a major event only one week before the Royal Rumble.
The company won't be holding a pay-per-view/premium live event in January due to the Royal Rumble airing on Saturday, February 1. Ahead of the Rumble, though, WWE are currently planning to hold the second episode of the Saturday Night's Main Event reboot on Saturday, January 25.
This is according to WrestleVotes, who said on WrestleVotes Radio: "Saturday Night's Main Event episode number two, we are hearing that date is tentatively scheduled for January 25th, which happens to be the week before the Royal Rumble. We don't have a location, we're working on that."
WWE revived Saturday Night's Main Event as part of their TV deal with USA Network for SmackDown. SNME will air on NBC as quarterly specials and the first episode will be broadcast from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, December 14. The taping will reportedly have a 1980s feel as SNME will have full arena seating with no major titantron and entrance stage. Jesse 'The Body' Ventura will also be featured during the broadcast.
