Report: WWE Shorthanded for Raw After WrestleMania 37

The show reportedly didn't go as originally planned

The Raw after WWE WrestleMania 37 was notably limited, particularly by the high standards set in recent years for the show after 'The Grandest Event Of The Year''.

Nothing majorly eventful happened while a number of top stars, including new United States champion Sheamus and newly crowned Raw Tag Team champions AJ Styles and Omos, were not utilised across the three-hour show.

Fightful Select has reported, however, that the reason Raw was missing a number of superstars was because the red brand was notably more shorthanded than usual. A host of wrestlers, who has performed at WrestleMania 37 over the weekend prior, were banged up and therefore not cleared to be on the following Raw.

Furthermore, a couple of absentees were due to COVID-19 related symptoms, with those individuals then removed from the show as a precaution.

The report points to the opening match on the show, which saw WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defeat Riddle, as one of the last-minute additions to last week's Raw. Originally, the two were not supposed to compete with each other.

Raw returns tonight but, as of writing, there is no word as to whether any of last week's absentees will be available for the show.
