Report: WWE Signs Meiko Satomura

She is already in London

Back in October, Tokyo Sports reported that Meiko Satomura was set to sign with WWE and join NXT UK as a Superstar and coach. This came after Satomura announced she would be part-time in Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling going forward.

There has been little news about Satomura heading to the UK since October, but Yahoo Japan has now reported that the Sendai' Girls co-founder has signed with WWE. She has reportedly been in London at the WWE UK Performance Center since January 6 and is currently preparing for her first match.

Satomura is a 26-year veteran of the squared circle and has been wrestling since she was 15-years-old. She debuted in Gaea Japan and wrestled for the promotion until it folded in 2005. She then co-founded Sendai' Girls Pro Wrestling and has wrestled for the promotion ever since. She has also competed around the world for the likes of PROGRESS, Stardom, wXw and Pro Wrestling EVE.

Satomura has a history with WWE and she previously competed in the 2018 Mae Young Classic. She made it to the semi-finals but was defeated by eventual winner Toni Storm. The Japanese wrestling legend then returned to WWE in 2019 as a guest trainer at the Performance Center in Orlando.
