Ivar of The Viking Raiders suffered an injury on this week's edition of Monday Night Raw during an eight-man tag team match against The Hurt Business. The former Raw Tag Team Champion went for a Tope Suicida onto three opponents at ringside but immediately threw up the "X" signal after the move.
Ivar was subsequently pulled from the match and WWE later announced he suffered a cervical injury and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution. The Viking Raider is expected to make a full recovery.
How long Ivar will spend on the sidelines is currently unknown but Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio the WWE Superstar suffered a "significant injury" and may need to undergo surgery.
Meltzer said: "Nothing's for sure but it has not been determined whether or not he will need surgery. But it's a significant injury. Once you say that it tells you it's not just like a stinger where you're gonna come back in two weeks. It's probably a lot worse than that. It's not determined yet but absolutely as of today it's a possibility."
