Report: WWE Talent & Staff Shake Ups To Occur More Frequently
WWE has conducted a number of releases in the last couple of months
Jul 2, 2021
WWE will reportedly be shaking up both the talent roster and backroom staff on a more frequent and common basis going forward.
WWE has conducted mass cuts throughout 2021, cutting a heavy number of superstars since WrestleMania 37 while also making mass redundancies in office positions as well.
Whereas the company has usually limited talent cuts to once or twice a year, traditionally in the weeks following WrestleMania, the promotion has let wrestlers out of their contracts at different points in the last couple of months.
Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Murphy, Lana and Ruby Riott were released last month by WWE while 14 members of the NXT and 205 Live roster were let go last week.
It appears that these cuts and shake-ups will continue to occur more commonly going forward, according to a report from Andrew Zarian on the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast.
He wrote on Twitter: "WWE talent and staff shakeups are something I was told would be more common heading into this new era for the company.
"When I pressed this person as to why their response was 'To be honest it's needed...'"
It has been reported that even more office staff based at WWE HQ were let go on Thursday, with some of those made redundant based in the marketing department.
