Report: WWE To Receive $1.8 Million For Backlash PPV

WWE Are Reportedly Set To Receive $1.8 Million From Backlash 2023 PPV

WWE is heading to Puerto Rico for their Backlash PPV on May 6 this year, in what looks to be quite a lucrative decision per recent reports, even though the show hasn’t yet taken place.

According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, WWE is set to receive $1.5 million in subsidiaries from Puerto Rican tourism groups, and a further $300,000 to help contribute to the use of the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot venue.

This will be the first time WWE has headed to Puerto Rico for a PPV since all the way back in 2005 for the New Year’s Revolution show, which featured Triple H winning the WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber. This event also took place at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot. It was also announced that Bad Bunny would be the host of Backlash after his previous WWE appearances competing at both WrestleMania 37 and Royal Rumble 2022, in addition to previously holding the 24/7 Championship.
