Report: WWE Unhappy With Ric Flair's Hall Of Fame Speech For Great Muta

WWE weren't happy with Ric Flair's Hall of Fame speech for The Great Muta

WWE held their latest Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday, March 31 with the likes of Stacy Keibler, Great Muta, Rey Mysterio, and Andy Kaufman being inducted as part of the 2023 class.

While many felt Sting should have been the one to induct The Great Muta into the WWE Hall of Fame, his status as an active AEW talent seemingly prevented The Icon from appearing inside a WWE ring. Instead, WWE called on the services of Ric Flair, a wrestler who has his own history with Muta over the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.

Flair is recognised as one of the talkers of his generation but Ric's Hall of Fame speeches aren't often fondly remembered due to his tendency to focus on himself instead of the person he's inducting, with Sting's WWE Hall of Fame induction in 2016 being a glaring example of that.

While the speech was short, Flair did spend time talking about himself during his induction speech for The Great Muta and Flair's speech was met with a negative reaction within WWE.

Fightful Select reported that Konnan's speech for Rey Mysterio was "very well received by WWE" but they were told "the opposite from many regarding Ric Flair's."

Flair is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer in his own right.
