Report: WWE Willing To Grant Releases To "Just About Anyone"

Could more releases be on the way...

Back on April 15, WWE released 34 Superstars including Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Rusev, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Sarah Logan. Nine producers were also furloughed while Kurt Angle was let go. The releases came after the company announced they would be making cutbacks because of the coronavirus pandemic, despite estimates showing the wrestling behemoth was still on course to make record profits in 2020.

News of releases and furloughs has continued to trickle through in the past few days, as it emerged that Cain Velasquez had been let go after only signing with the company in October, and longtime WWE employee Gerald Brisco had been furloughed.

More releases could be on the way as WrestleVotes revealed on Twitter that WWE is willing to grant releases to "just about anyone" who asks. Whether any Superstar will ask for their release during a global pandemic remains to be seen, however.

WrestleVotes tweeted: "Hearing from a few different sources that WWE is willing to grant a release to "just about anyone" who requests one. Basically if a talent wants out, they can go. Will be interesting to see if anyone REALLY does want out, especially during this uncertain time."
