Report: Zelina Vega's WWE Return Has Been In The Works Since Before WrestleMania 37

It's been planned for a while

Seven months after she departed the company, Zelina Vega (Thea Trinidad) is seemingly set for a shock return to WWE.

It emerged yesterday courtesy of Fightful Select that Vega was at the WWE Performance Center to film content and the "working plan" is for her to return to the organisation. Fightful has since updated their original report and noted Vega was filmed walking into the training facility alongside Simone Johnson, The Rock's daughter who is a WWE developmental talent.

Vega's return to WWE has also been in the works since before WrestleMania 37, according to Wrestling Inc

Trinidad was released by WWE back in November 2020 for breach of contract. Her firing came shortly after she opened an OnlyFans account, which was in direct opposition to a company edict that banned Superstars from using third-party platforms to supplement their income. As a result, WWE felt Vega had "boxed them into a difficult situation" and she was let go.

There was interest in Vega from All Elite Wrestling after her release, but if any conversations took place between the two parties is currently unknown.
