Revealed: Original Name & Plans For SEGA Sponsored AEW Dynamite Street Fight

A different name was pitched for the Like A Dragon Gaiden Street Fight on AEW Dynamite

A major match will headline the Wednesday, November 15 edition of AEW Dynamite as Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, Chris Jericho, and Paul Wight will team together to take on Brian Cage and the Don Callis Family's Konosuke Takeshita, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Kyle Fletcher. The match will be a Like a Dragon Gaiden Street Fight sponsored by SEGA.

Brian Cage was a late addition to the match, with Don Callis striking a deal with Prince Nana to bring The Machine to the side of Callis for one night only. The storyline explanation for this was that Sammy Guevara is still out of action and the three-time TNT Champion was indeed planned for the match, according to Fightful Select. Guevara has been on the shelf with a concussion since the WrestleDream pay-per-view on October 1, however.

All Elite Wrestling also originally had a different name planned for the Street Fight before it was sponsored by SEGA. Fightful Select reported an original name for the match was the Final Boss Battle Street Fight.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name was released on November 8 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC. The game has received positive reviews.

The November 15 edition of Dynamite will be the final episode of AEW's flagship show before the Full Gear pay-per-view on Saturday, November 18.
