Rey Mysterio Given Official Injury Designation By WWE

WWE have announced that Rey Mysterio is out of action with an injury.

Michael Cole noted during Monday Night Raw that Mysterio sustained injuries at the Royal Rumble on Saturday, January 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. If Mysterio is actually still injured or was just written off TV for the night to explain why he wasn't at ringside for Penta's match against Bronson Reed is unknown.

Penta ended up defeating Reed by count-out after LA Knight attacked The Vision and gave Reed a BFT on a steel chair while the referee was down.

Rey Mysterio did suffer an injury on the January 26 edition of Monday Night Raw during a singles match with Austin Theory. Mysterio was not involved in the post-match beatdown from The Vision and the referee threw up the 'X' to signal a legitimate injury as Mysterio held his shoulder.

Mysterio's injury was not considered serious, though, and he travelled to Saudi Arabia to compete in the Royal Rumble. Mysterio lasted 2 minutes 43 seconds in the men's Royal Rumble after entering at #4. Rey was eliminated by Oba Femi.
