Ric Flair: I Would Speak To WWE's Vince McMahon Before Joining AEW

Flair says he owes a lot to Vince McMahon

Ric Flair has said he would do WWE's Vince McMahon the courtesy of speaking to him before joining All Elite Wrestling.

Flair was released by WWE in early August, with the Nature Boy revealing his departure came at his own bequest so that he could go out and explore other business opportunities.

The 72-year-old had returned to WWE nine years ago and has been heavily linked with joining future son-in-law Andrade in AEW, having walked out to the ring with him at AAA TripleMania 39 three weeks ago.

However, Flair says he would chat with WWE Chairman McMahon if he wanted to go to AEW, and would also speak to McMahon is he was going to get physical in the ring again.

Speaking to Renee Paquette on Oral Sessions, Flair said: "Hypothetically, if I wanted to go work at AEW, I would go to [Vince] and say, 'I want to do this and want to get back in the ring and I know you don't like that, if I wanted to get knocked down or something. He would say to me, 'Ultimately, what's best for you is best for me.'

"Get back in the ring and entertain? Absolutely. I would ask [Vince] first because I owe that to him. I got a text from Randy Orton, I can't read it to you, I don't have it. Let me tell you something if you're at AEW and the Four Horsemen get together, everyone in the world watches

"Arn [Anderson], Tully [Blanchard], Barry [Windham] is sitting about a mile from here, and JJ [Dillon], you fly him in. You do a half-hour interview with [Tony] Schiavone and Jim Ross."
