Ric Flair Thinks Charlotte's 17th Title Win Would Be The Biggest Thing In Pro Wrestling

Ric Flair excited for Charlotte to win 17th title

With John Cena currently back in a WWE ring, fans will wonder if WWE will pull the trigger on a 17th world title run for Cena, surpassing the record set by Ric Flair.

For Flair, though, his attention is on daughter Charlotte Flair, with ‘The Nature Boy’ telling Chris Van Vliet that Charlotte landing world title number 17 would be the biggest thing in wrestling:

“I certainly hope it happens. I don’t know what they’re doing right now. But who knows? It’s got to happen. It’d be the biggest thing in the business,” Flair stated. “If they’re really interested in doing something — because I feel like the women have had more empowerment right now than they ever had, and [they deserve it], right?

“If they were — the biggest thing that could happen, John and I talked about all of this, John Cena. Can you imagine us walking down and congratulating Charlotte? What kind of rating would that get on TV, to see that finally happen? I mean, I think it’s the biggest thing they could do right now.”

Charlotte currently stands as a 14-time world champion across Raw and SmackDown, but her two runs as NXT champion aren't recognised as ‘world’ titles. For Ric, whilst WWE claim he is a 16-time champion, others claim the legendary Horseman had 21 world title runs, a number sometimes acknowledged by Flair himself.
