Rob Van Dam Reached Out To WWE Over Royal Rumble Appearance

WWE Hall of Famer was put on 'standby', but eventually not used...

During a recent interview with Sportskeeda, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam revealed that he reached out to WWE about appearing in the 2022 men's Royal Rumble match.

While RVD was considered for the bout and was placed on standby, he ultimately wasn't used.

"I let them know that I was available if they wanted me, or needed me, for Royal Rumble. And I was on standby, with a brand-new outfit, feeling great, you know, in great condition, and they didn't call me in".

Van Dam then said that while he has no concrete plans to return to WWE, that he would consider any situation from any company and weigh up whether it was the right move for him.

The Whole F'N Show's last WWE appearance was when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame over last year's WrestleMania weekend. A special WWE Icons episode focusing on his career premiered on the WWE Network on Peacock on May 16, 2021.
