Rob Van Dam may be known for his extreme exploits in promotions such as ECW, but the former WWE Champion has limits when it comes to what he wants to see in wrestling.

On a recent edition of his 1 Of A Kind With RVD podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer commented on Jon Moxley taking a suplex onto a bat covered with nails (on the March 19 episode of Dynamite), noting that he wasn't a fan and that such extreme content makes him feel like he would rather be associated with WWE instead.

"Not my thing. Not my kind of thing. That's not wrestling to me. Obviously, it's sacrificing a lot for the business. I mean, that could be said about it. But the more AEW has been doing stuff like that, the more personally I feel like I would rather be associated with WWE than AEW", Van Dam said.

Continuing, the 54-year-old added that he feels such scenes suggest that AEW are regressing as a company, saying:

"A couple of years ago, it was like, man, they're growing, they're trying things to get up there, and then there's a feel that the inmates are running the prison…".

The Whole F'N Show wrestled six matches for AEW between August 2023 and April 2024.

He most recently appeared in the crowd during WWE's Royal Rumble premium live event (on February 2). Prior to that, he showed up on the November 6 edition of NXT and later claimed he would be back.

Van Dam is signed to a WWE Legends deal.
