Rob Van Dam believes his induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame was a 'full circle' moment for himself and a confirmation of his contributions to the promotion following his arrest for cannabis possession while the WWE Champion in 2006.
Rob Van Dam was given the ball by WWE in mid-2006 and won the WWE Title from John Cena at ECW One Night Stand, before also being awarded the re-introduced ECW World Championship. Just a few weeks later, RVD was arrested for being in possession of cannabis, leading to WWE suspending him for 30 days and forcing him to drop both World Championships in a 24-hour period.
The high-flyer was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame earlier this year and RVD believes the honour shows that WWE are proud of and thankful for all his contributions and accolades, rather than continuing to worry about his mistakes from 15 years ago.
Speaking to Inside The Ropes, RVD said: "I definitely dropped the ball when I got busted for the cannabis when I had the WWE and ECW titles. I feel like I dropped the ball on his [Vince McMahon's] plans.
"So coming back into the WWE Hall of Fame and being welcomed back into the family like that, it was kind of like a full circle for me, confirming all of my efforts and my accomplishments and everything that I have done throughout my career far outweigh one little f*ck up."
