Rocky Romero joins AEW

All Elite Wrestling have added a new name to their front office.

According to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Rocky Romero has joined AEW's front office. The report has been confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful

There is no word on Romero's role with All Elite Wrestling beyond that he is now employed by the promotion. Romero has worked closely with AEW in recent years, helping to foster the working relationship between AEW and New Japan Pro-Wrestling that was formed in early 2021. Romero has also been influential in forming the partnership that AEW struck up with CMLL in 2023

Romero has worked as a liaison for NJPW for several years which also saw him negotiate with WWE after Karl Anderson returned to the company while he was the reigning NEVER Openweight Champion. This led to Anderson continuing to wrestle for NJPW until Wrestle Kingdom 17.

Beyond his backstage role, Romero remains an active in-ring talent, performing for NJPW, CMLL, and sporadically on AEW programming as part of Best Friends. He is also the reigning MLW World Middleweight Champion.
