Roderick Strong Vs. Ikemen Jiro Added To WWE NXT

Strong and Jiro will be in action

Ikemen Jiro will face Roderick Strong on tonight's edition of NXT in the latest open challenge from The Master Of The Backbreaker.

Roderick Strong issued an open challenge for the August 31 show last week and Jiro accepted the match over the weekend, during which he revealed Kushida was an idol of his.

Strong was initially scheduled to challenge Kushida for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship two weeks ago but The Time Splitter was unable to compete. Strong issued an open challenge instead and was defeated by Ilja Dragunov. Malcolm Bivens then claimed on last week's show that The Diamond Mine man was the uncrowned Cruiserweight Champion.

Several other matches have already been announced for NXT. Check out the advertised card below:

  • Kyle O'Reilly vs. Duke Hudson
  • Tommaso Ciampa vs. Ridge Holland
  • Johnny Gargano vs. LA Knight
  • Roderick Strong vs. Ikemen Jiro
  • Ilja Dragunov to appear
