ROH Women's World Title Unified On AEW Dynamite

Title unified on AEW Dynamite

The ROH Women's World Championship was unified on Wednesday's edition of AEW Dynamite from Baltimore, Maryland.

Interim Champion Mercedes Martinez and Champion Deonna Purrazzo faced off in the main event of Dynamite and Martinez ultimately picked up the win over the IMPACT talent with a modified Dragon Sleeper.

Purrazzo had been ROH Women's World Champion since she defeated Rok-C for the gold on the January 13 episode of IMPACT Wrestling. An Interim Champion was then crowned at ROH Supercard Of Honor on April 1 after Purrazzo was unable to make the event, with Martinez defeating Willow Nightingale at the WrestleMania Weekend show.

Purrazzo commented on her loss following Dynamite, thanking Tony Khan, AEW, and Ring Of Honor before saying she was proud.

Tony Khan announced back in March that he had purchased Ring Of Honor and the promotion has had a presence on AEW ever since, with AEW talents FTR, Samoa Joe, Wheeler Yuta, and now Mercedes Martinez all holding ROH gold.
