Rumour Killer On Jim Johnston Returning To WWE
Latest on rumours surrounding a Jim Johnston WWE return
Feb 5, 2025
Recent rumours have suggested that former WWE composer Jim Johnston had returned to the company, with many long-time fans having called for Johnstone’s return for many years.
However this is not the case. On the February 3 edition of Raw, The New Day came out with new theme music, with captions indicating that Johnston was behind the track. A report from Fightful Select has stated this was in error, and the track was the work of Sayzee and Mega Ran, whilst Johnstone is not back in WWE.
Furthermore, some within WWE indicated to Fightful that there are ‘no plans’ to bring Johnston back.
Johnston was part of WWE from 1985 until being released by the company in 2017. During this time he created the themes for practically every WWE act you can think of, such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Ultimate Warrior, The Rock, Triple H, and of course Yoshi Tatsu.
After Johnston’s exit, WWE music was handled by CFO$, and later by Def Rebel, with many fans vocal with their displeasure of the latter.
