RUSH has confirmed his current absence from All Elite Wrestling is due to the expiration of his United States work visa.
The former ROH World Champion tweeted: "Everyone loves gossip! But they actually got two things right. I'm happy at my home, #AEW, and my visa has expired."
RUSH had earlier signalled that he would not wrestle again until 2027, with Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reporting that RUSH's comments were due to his visa expiring and that his new visa was not expected to arrive until the new year. Alvarez also noted that, from all accounts, RUSH is happy in All Elite Wrestling and he is simply unable to legally work for the promotion at the moment.
RUSH has been gone from AEW TV since the July 2 edition of Collision when he picked up a squash match win over Jordan Cruz. The 38-year-old had been booked regularly on AEW TV prior to that in 2026, including challenging MJF for the AEW World Championship.
RUSH has been with All Elite Wrestling since making his debut at Double or Nothing 2022. He signed a multi-year contract extension in the summer of 2023, turning down interest from WWE to remain a part of AEW.
