Sami Zayn loved his gimmick heavy clash with Johnny Knoxville’s at WrestleMania 38
Out of all the matches in WrestleMania history, Sami Zayn and Johnny Knoxville’s slapstick Jackass brawl at WrestleMania 38 easily ranks as one of the weirdest.
But no matter how weird and at times unique the bout was, Zayn has claimed it his one of his all time favourites, writing on Instagram:
"My Wrestlemania match against Johnny Knoxville is one of my all time favourites. Definitely one of the matches I’m most proud of. I’ve had a lot of great matches in my career, I’d put this up with any of them. Anyone who saw this match will remember it. That’s as good as it gets.”
The match saw all manner of gimmick used, from mousetrap covered tables and bowling balls, to tasers, giant hands, and the ‘have to see it to believe it’ sight of Jason ‘Wee Man’ Acuña bodyslamming Zayn.
Eventually, Knoxville got the win with a giant mousetrap, pinning the former Intercontinental Champion when he was unable to escape. Pro wrestling is amazing.
