Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo Stripped Of AAA Titles

Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo are no longer champions in AAA

Tay Melo and Sammy Guevara were stripped of the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships during the promotion's show from Acapulco, Mexico on December 28.

The married couple were scheduled to defend the titles on the show but AAA Head of Talent Relations Konnan came to the ring during the event and announced Guevara and Melo had been stripped of the belts due to their excessive demands. He noted someone from AAA is on their way to the United States to collect the titles.

New champions were then crowned as Flammer and Abismo Negro Jr. defeated Lady Shani & Octagon Jr., and Komander & Sexy Star II. Flammer picked up the win following a Twisting Sit-Down Tombstone to Sexy Star II.

Guevara and Tay Melo had been AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champions since their TripleMania XXX: Monterrey win in April 2022. They defended the titles twice against Skye Blue & Dante Martin, and Ruby Soho & Ortiz in All Elite Wrestling.

Tay Melo was in action on the December 28 edition of AEW Dynamite as she and Anna Jay defeated Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale.
