Santana Teases AEW Return

Santana has been absent from AEW programming for nearly a full year after he suffered an injury within the Blood & Guts match in which the Jericho Appreciation Society took on the team of Santana, Ortiz, Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta. However, a return may be in the works. 

On Santana’s twitter account, he posted a video which was a couple of minutes long which shows him getting on a train and then teasing changing foot attire to footwear more appropriate for in-ring work. This could signal a return to the ring, though with the rumoured falling out between him and former tag team partner Ortiz, it isn’t clear if a reunion is in the works or if Santana will be taking his business elsewhere. 

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer stated that Santana would be nearing a return soon, which coincides with the release of these teases on twitter; 

“Santana is going to be ready to return soon. Not sure where he’ll fit in since he and Ortiz had a falling out. They are better off as a team than singles and Ortiz hasn’t done much since Santana was gone. They were one of the better teams in the company.”
