Santino Marella will remain a part of TNA Wrestling, at least for another year.
Marella has announced that he has signed a new one-year deal with TNA after holding talks with TNA President Carlos Silva.
"There’s a lot of talk about TNA contracts expiring at the end of the year. Carlos [Silva] is proactive. He left me last week and just said, 'Of course we want to have you back.' So, I've signed. I've re-signed for another year with TNA. It just feels like it's the right thing to do. It's the right timing, the direction that we're going, the momentum that we have. Ever since AMC everything has been incredible," Marella said on the Johnny I Pro Show.
Marella, however, believes there has been more negativity towards TNA in 2026 from pro wrestling fans, but the company threw it back in their faces with Bound for Glory.
"I notice this year, though, there's a little more hatred online, which is a good thing for us because if nobody hates you in this business you're not doing anything significant. They were doubting us going into Bound for Glory. We showed everybody, kind of threw it in their face a little bit. It was an incredible pay-per-view. History was made, multiple titles were changed. If there was ever a doubt in anybody’s mind, we erased it after Bound for Glory. That’s what happens when you’re in the big leagues. There’s people that constantly criticise AEW, WWE, and now TNA. We must be doing something right," Marella added.
Santino Marella signed with TNA in January 2023, debuting as the promotion's on-screen director of authority at Hard to Kill. He has remained an authority figure ever since and has squabbled with other on-screen figures, including NXT's Robert Stone, and currently TNA Director of Operations Daria Rae.
Marella has also wrestled sporadically since signing with TNA, including against his own daughter Arianna Grace from December 2025 to June 2026.
TNA President Carlos Silva stated at a talent meeting at the post-Bound for Glory 2026 TV tapings that TNA would be looking to secure new deals with wrestlers in the coming weeks ahead of contracts expiring at the end of the year.
