Saraya Names Toni Storm As AEW Dynamite Tag Team Partner
Saraya and Toni Storm will team together on the January 11 AEW Dynamite
After weeks of speculation, Saraya revealed who her mystery tag partner will be when she takes on Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter on the January 11 edition of AEW Dynamite, with Saraya choosing former AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm to partner her in California.
Saraya had a sit down interview with Renee Paquette on the January 4 Dynamite, flanked by both Storm and Hikaru Shida, where the former Paige revealed her choice to the visible confusion of Shida. However, reports are suggesting that this is a red herring, and that Storm will be replaced by Mercedes Moné, with the new NJPW/STARDOM star having been long rumoured for the bout.
DAZN’s Steven Muehlhausen had tweeted earlier on January 4 that Moné was indeed set for the January 11 Dynamite, with Britt Baker later throwing subtle references to Moné on the January 4 show. Moné herself seemed to imply that she was set to head to AEW as part of her ‘world domination tour’ during a Wrestle Kingdom press conference. Due to the close working relationship between AEW and NJPW, a working arrangement for Moné doesn’t seem out of the equation.
Dave Meltzer, however, has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Moné is not AEW-bound.
