Saraya Wanted To Be A Heel Upon AEW Debut

Saraya wanted to be a heel straight away in AEW

Saraya made her AEW debut back at Dynamite: Grand Slam in 2022, being greeted with a massive ovation and hero’s welcome. It wasn’t long until fans began turning against her, and it led to the formation of The Outcasts faction, in which Saraya turned heel. She has revealed in an interview with Inside The Ropes that she wanted to be a heel from day one, but Tony Khan and AEW thought differently.

“I wanted to be a heel straight out the gate, and they told me I had to be a babyface. When I walked out, the first time I walked out, and I was like ‘I understand, but I just flourish better as a heel’. If I have to get comfortable I’d rather be a heel first because it’s easy to get people to hate you than like you, and so that I can just get in my stride and not be so offended if people are talking sh*t about me. So I’m like, ‘Hey, I’m just doing my job.’ You know what I mean?”

Saraya would go on to talk about her love for the likes of Ruby Soho and Toni Storm, who she currently teams with in The Outcasts.
