Serena Deeb Wins The NWA World Women's Championship

Capping off a successful few months...

After 277 days and five successful title defences against the likes of Allysin Kay, Melina and Ivelisse, Thunder Rosa lost the NWA World Women's Championship to Serena Deeb on last night's episode of UWN Primetime Live.

The two women previously went one on one on AEW: Dynamite. Thunder Rosa came out on top on that occasion, leaving a rubber match in the future a possibility.

The title win caps off a successful period for Deeb since she was released by WWE in April. She impressed AEW officials during her aforementioned match with Thunder Rosa and signed with the promotion soon after. She has since made regular appearances in AEW.

Tony Khan announced the former Straight Edge Society's first title defence soon after. She will face Leyla Hirsch on tonight's episode of Dynamite.

Khan tweeted: "Congratulations to the new @nwa Women’s World Champion @SerenaDeeb! She’ll make her 1st title defense v. @LegitLeyla on #AEWDynamite tomorrow night, Wednesday on TNT at 8pm ET/7pm CT on a huge show with several big matches on the card! Thank you great fans who make AEW possible!"
