Seth Rollins' First World Heavyweight Championship Defence To Take Place On WWE Raw

Seth Rollins' world title open challenge has been answered for Raw

Fans won’t have to wait very long for Seth Rollins’ first World Heavyweight Championship defence after he won the gold against AJ Styles at Night Of Champions 2023, as the new champion is set to defend the gold on the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw on June 5. He took to twitter to issue an open challenge.

“My man @WWEBigE was the last defender of the crown…..in November 2021?!??

Let’s change that.

Open Challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship is officially LIVE for THIS Monday night in Hartford!

Line ‘em up!”

On SmackDown, it was revealed that The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest has stepped up to the plate to challenge Rollins for the gold, marking his first world championship match in WWE.

In his tweet, Rollins references the fact that the last time a men’s world title was defended on the Raw brand was all the way back in 2021 when Big E defended the WWE Championship against Austin Theory on the November 22 episode. Due to Roman Reigns’ part-time run as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion developing into a part-time reign with infrequent defences, Rollins has pushed to become a fighting champion, and this open challenge is the first example of that.
