Seth Rollins Wins WWE United States Title On Raw

With a very noteworthy assist

Seth Rollins is the new WWE United States champion, after defeating Bobby Lashley on Monday's episode of Raw in Brooklyn.

Lashley was attacked before the match by a returning Brock Lesnar, who dropped Lashley with a pair of F5s. Lesnar also softened Lashley's arm up with the Kimura lock.

Rollins then goaded an injured Lashley into going on with the title match, taunting him until Lashley felt compelled to try and wrestle. Rollins then managed to finish Lashley off to win the title.

The win gives Rollins his second United States Title. He previously won the title at the 2015 SummerSlam, where (as defending WWE champion) he defeated US champ John Cena in a title-for-title match, following an assist from former Daily Show host Jon Stewart.

Rollins previously made an unsuccessful challenge of the US Title on the September 19 edition of Raw.

Lashley's reign as United States Champion ends at exactly 100 days. He won the title from Austin Theory at Money in the Bank on July 2 in Las Vegas.
