Shawn Spears Returns To AEW, Revives Babyface Gimmick

Shawn Spears is back and he's a perfect 10. 

Spears had been away from All Elite Wrestling since losing a Steel Cage Match to Wardlow on May 25 but he made his return on this week's Dynamite from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Spears appeared on the show after FTR made the save for Wardlow and Samoa Joe following their win over The Factory. The Embassy of Prince Nana, Brian Cage, and Gates of Agony interrupted WarJoe's celebrations and they looked set to come to blows until Dax Harwood and FTR made their way to the ring.

A tag team match on Rampage was then hinted at before FTR introduced Shawn Spears, who revived his Perfect 10 gimmick upon his return. Speas then threw Aaron Solo into the ring for a Big Rig from FTR to end the segment with the babyfaces on top. 

Spears and FTR vs. Brian Cage and Gates of Agony was later made official for AEW Rampage. FTR and Spears have history in AEW and they were a part of The Pinnacle together with MJF and Wardlow. 

Spears previously used the Perfect 10 character during his second WWE run, with the gimmick becoming incredibly popular on NXT. He joined AEW in 2019 and was initially a babyface before turning heel and establishing himself as The Chairman after he smashed Cody Rhodes with a steel chair.
