Shawn Spears Reveals Why His AEW Partnership With MJF Ended

Shawn Spears on his MJF partnership

Upon his return to All Elite Wrestling on the October 12 edition of Dynamite, Shawn Spears was no longer 'The Chairman' and he turned babyface, reviving his Perfect 10 persona to align with FTR. Spears, Dax Harwood, and Cash Wheeler then picked up a win on AEW Rampage against Brian Cage and The Gates of Agony.

Prior to his return, Shawn Spears had been aligned with MJF first in The Pinnacle and then as Wardlow's accountabilibuddy. That partnership came to an end after Spears' loss to Wardlow in a Steel Cage Match on the May 25 episode of Dynamite.

Speaking about his partnership with MJF at a K&S Wrestlefest signing, Spears revealed their alliance came to an end as the story had run its course.

"I think that was just the end of the story because the story was him (Wardlow) and Max. I was [just] a piece in that story. I think that was just - we had a great run, a great time, a lengthy, on TV every week kind of story that we were running. We timed it and capped it off at the perfect time," Spears said.

Spears has not been back on AEW TV since mid-October. When he will be back remains to be seen.
