Surprise Royal Rumble entrants have become a staple of the pay-per-view over the years, with fans never knowing who might make their way to the ring once the countdown reaches zero.

That anticipation has been somewhat diluted for the 2022 event, though, as while several participants have yet to be announced, WWE have already revealed many of the Women's Royal Rumble entrants, including returning Superstars like Mickie James, Lita, The Bella Twins, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly and Summer Rae.

While the announcement appears to have generated interest for the pay-per-view, many fans voiced on social media that they would have preferred a few more surprises at the Rumble.

Former WWE Champion Sheamus also seemingly would have preferred the company didn't announce who was in the Rumble matches, noting to GiveMeSport he isn't a fan of announcing the entrants ahead of the show.

"I know this year, they've announced a lot of contestants for the women's Royal Rumble. I like the fact that they just show up. I'm not a huge fan of telling people who is going to be in there. I think the men's one is a bit more secretive. They've announced like 10 people who are on the active roster. On the women's side, there are a lot of girls coming back. It shows how much they've missed the product and missed being in the ring," Sheamus admitted.

The Celtic Warrior will be involved in the Men's Royal Rumble on January 29 alongside the likes of Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, Big E, Austin Theory and Johnny Knoxville.
