Shelton Benjamin Returns From Injury

Shelton Benjamin is back in WWE following his recent injury

Shelton Benjamin is back in action following his recent injury.

The former Intercontinental Champion returned to the squared circle during Monday's taping of Main Event prior to Raw and he defeated Akira Tozawa in a short match. Also taped for Main Event was T-Bar vs. Reggie and the former Dominik Dijakovic picked up the win on this occasion.

Benjamin announced on May 15 that he was on the shelf with an injury, noting it was only the second time he had been out of action due to injury in his 22-year career.

Prior to his issue, Benjamin had been on WWE TV alongside Cedric Alexander. The former Cruiserweight Champion was involved in Omos and MVP's feud with Bobby Lashley while Benjamin was out of action, helping The All Mighty to victory at the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view on June 5.

Before Monday, Benjamin's most recent WWE match was at the April 25 taping of Main Event when he and Alexander suffered a loss to Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins of The Street Profits.

Benjamin is currently in his second run with WWE, having re-signed with the company in 2017.
