Shingo Takagi Disappointed At Not Being Booked On The AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Main Card

Shingo Takagi wanted more from 2023's Forbidden Door

Shingo Takagi was in action at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view on Sunday, June 25 but the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion didn't make it onto the main card. Takagi instead teamed with Los Ingobernables de Japon faction mates Hiromu Takahashi and BUSHI on the Zero Hour pre-show to defeat United Empire's Jeff Cobb, Kyle Fletcher and TJP.

Speaking following the event in a backstage interview, Shingo expressed his disappointment at missing out on being involved on the main card.

"I was able to participate last year, but this year is the pre-show. As a wrestler, I'm honestly disappointed. I'm a man. I'm always waiting for an offer," Shingo said.

Takagi teamed with Sting and Darby Allin as the Dudes with Attitudes on the main card of the inaugural Forbidden Door pay-per-view in June 2022. The trio defeated The Young Bucks and El Phantasmo in the Bucks' one-night return to Bullet Club.

Following Forbidden Door, Shingo will be involved in NJPW's G1 Climax 33 that will run from July 15 until August 13. He will be a part of the C Block along with the likes of David Finlay, AEW's Eddie Kingston, EVIL, and Tomohiro Ishii.
