Sonya Deville Reportedly Originally Scheduled For 2021 WWE Money In The Bank Ladder Match

Deville didn't compete in the match

WWE reportedly had plans for Sonya Deville to be in this year's Women's Money In The Bank Ladder match, going so far as to produce graphics advertising her for the bout.

Deville has not technically competed in WWE since suffering defeat in a Loser Leaves WWE Match with Mandy Rose at SummerSlam 2020. While the current on-screen official did compete in a Handicap Match against Naomi a few weeks ago, partner Shayna Baszler did much of the work.

This year's Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match, at the pay-per-view of the same name in July, saw Nikki A.S.H win the briefcase in a bout that also included Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Liv Morgan, Naomi, Natalya, Tamina, and Zelina Vega. However, Fightful is reporting that WWE originally planned Deville to be in the match.

The report notes that WWE even went so far as to have the graphics for the match produced with Deville in, before changing the direction for the bout. It is not known why Deville was pulled from the match or who ended up taking her place
