SPOILER: AEW Rampage Match Scrapped Due To Injury

Scorpio Sky was pulled from AEW Rampage due to injury

A match announced for this week's edition of AEW Rampage won't be airing on Friday night.

All Elite Wrestling taped the July 28 edition of Rampage following a live episode of Dynamite on Wednesday night in Albany, New York. Scorpio Sky was scheduled to take on Kip Sabian during the taping but it was announced ahead of the match by Tony Khan that Scorpio Sky was unable to compete due to injury. The former AEW World Tag Team Champion was replaced by Komander and the luchador went on to defeat Kip Sabian.

The nature of Sky's injury and how long he will be out of action has not been revealed.

Sky's injury comes only weeks after he returned to AEW TV as a performer on Collision, wrestling in his first match in just over a year when he defeated Action Andretti on July 8. Sky disappeared from AEW programming in July 2022 due to injury when he dropped the TNT Championship to Wardlow. It emerged in November of 2022 that Sky had been cleared for in-ring action for "some time" and AEW simply didn't have any plans for him.

The 40-year-old has been a part of All Elite Wrestling since 2019. He is under contract with the promotion until 2026, having inked a five-year contract extension in 2021.
